The Notre Dame girls basketball team battled their way to a 50-45 victory over Wilson in the Colonial League quarterfinals on Friday night. In a back-and-forth contest, the Crusaders trailed by three entering the fourth quarter but took control with a dominant defensive effort, forcing multiple turnovers and outscoring Wilson 12-4 in the final period.
Ava Shonk sealed the win with clutch free-throw shooting, going 4-for-4 from the line in the closing minutes. Emily Lessig led the way offensively with a game-high 19 points, matching her career high. With the win, Notre Dame advances to the semifinals, where they will face the winner of the Catasauqua-Palmerton game at a site to be determined on Monday night.
