The Notre Dame girls' basketball team put on a strong defensive performance to defeat Palmerton 43-25 in the Colonial League semifinal at Southern Lehigh. The Crusaders knocked down eight three-pointers in the win, with juniors Ava Shonk and Brenna Hammerstone each hitting three from beyond the arc. Shonk finished with 10 points, while Hammerstone and senior Emily Lessig added 9 points a piece.
Notre Dame outscored Palmerton 19-11 in the second half to secure the victory and punch their ticket to the Colonial League championship game. They will face Northwestern Lehigh on Friday night at 6:00 PM at Freedom High School, looking to avenge an earlier season loss.
