In a hard-fought defensive battle, Notre Dame emerged over Executive Education Academy, 29-20, in the District 11 semifinal at Northampton High School. The Crusaders' defense proved to be the difference, holding the Raptors to just three points on free throws in the third quarter and allowing only four field goals all game.
Senior Sarah Zambo delivered a standout performance, contributing across the board with 7 points, 9 rebounds, 7 blocks, and 2 steals. Junior, Brenna Hammerstone led the scoring effort with 8 points, including two three-pointers and a pair of free throws. Despite a slow start at the line, Notre Dame found their rhythm in the fourth quarter, sinking 7 of 12 free throws to maintain control.
With the win, the Crusaders advance to the District 11 3A championship, where they will face Schuykill Haven at Easton Area Middle School on Friday at 6:00 PM.
