Girls Tennis Falls to Saucon Valley

The Notre Dame girls tennis team dropped a tough match to Saucon Valley on Monday, falling by a 4-1 margin.
In singles play, Viktoria Vosseller battled at the top spot but came up short, 3-6, 3-6. Julia Goffredo faced a strong opponent at No. 2 singles, falling 0-6, 0-6. At No. 3 singles, Grace Rinaldi put on a gritty performance, extending her match to more than two hours before narrowly dropping a third-set tiebreak, 2-6, 7-6, 5-10.
Doubles action saw equally competitive play. At No. 1, Gabby Ronca and Mackenzie Bower fought hard but fell in a tight second-set tiebreak, 2-6, 6-7. Notre Dame’s lone victory came at No. 2 doubles, where Avery Rush and Meghan Maslonka rallied back after dropping the first set to earn a hard-fought three-set win, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4.
The Crusaders return to action today in a rescheduled matchup against Jim Thorpe.
