The Notre Dame baseball team delivered a commanding performance on Wednesday, rolling past Catasauqua with a 15-2 victory in just five innings. The Crusaders exploded for eight runs in the first inning and never looked back, collecting 10 hits while limiting the Rough Riders to just three.
Shortstop Colin Pevorus led the offensive charge, going 2-for-2 with three runs scored and an RBI. Michael Martino added two hits and an RBI, while Michael Wachter, Paul Smith, and Blake Benolken each chipped in with an RBI as well. The Crusaders showcased patience at the plate, drawing seven walks, which helped fuel their big innings.
On the mound, Austin Casal picked up the win, tossing two innings while allowing just one run on one hit and striking out two. Andrew Wake and Brayden Darios combined for three strong innings in relief, keeping the Rough Riders' bats quiet.
