Notre Dame baseball delivered a strong performance on Friday, defeating Saucon Valley 6-4 in a thrilling matchup. After falling behind early, the Crusaders rallied with two runs in both the second and third innings before tacking on key insurance runs in the fifth and sixth.
Junior Austin Casal led the offense, going 3-for-4 with a home run and an RBI. Senior Justin Silvius added two hits and an RBI, while sophomore Paul Smith contributed a clutch double.
On the mound, sophomore John Hull was outstanding in relief, pitching five scoreless innings, allowing just two hits, and striking out two to secure the win.
Notre Dame hands Saucon Valley its first loss of the season and will look to build on this victory when they host Northwestern on Tuesday.
