Notre Dame baseball came up just short against Northwestern Lehigh, falling 5-4 in a hard-fought matchup on Wednesday. The Crusaders took control early with three runs in the fourth inning and added another in the sixth, but a late three-run seventh inning by Northwestern Lehigh proved to be the difference.
Clemente Cintron pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits and five runs (four earned) over seven innings, while striking out five and walking three. At the plate, Notre Dame tallied nine hits, with Christian Rivituso leading the way, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Jason Frederick and Colin Pevorus each drove in two runs, while Austin Casal, Paul Smith, and Connor Albert all added hits.
Despite the tough loss, the Crusaders will look to bounce back in their next game against Palmerton.
