Notre Dame baseball battled back but ultimately came up short in a 3-2 loss to Pen Argyl on Wednesday. After falling behind 3-0 in the first inning, the Crusaders responded in the fifth with two runs, but couldn’t complete the comeback.
Jason Frederick had a big day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two doubles, while Connor Albert, Clemente Cintron, and Austin Casal each added hits. Casal and Christian Rivituso drove in the team’s two runs.
On the mound, John Hull pitched 4.1 innings, allowing 2 hits and 3 earned runs while striking out 2. Michael Martino was strong in relief, tossing 1.2 scoreless innings with 3 strikeouts.
Notre Dame looks to bounce back when they take on Salisbury next Wednesday.
