The Notre Dame baseball team edged out Wilson Area 3–2 on Tuesday night to advance in district playoff action. The Crusaders delivered a clutch performance on the road, racking up 10 hits and executing timely plays to secure the win.
Notre Dame took the lead in the 4th inning with two runs and added the go-ahead run in the 7th. Key offensive contributors included Paul Smith, who went 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Christian Rivituso and Clemente Cintron added two hits and drove in a run. Michael Martino also chipped in with two hits and an RBI, while earning a double.
On the mound, Martino started and struck out seven over five innings, allowing two earned runs. John Hull closed the door with two perfect innings of relief to earn the win.
With the victory, the Crusaders move on to face top-seeded Southern Lehigh on Saturday night at Limeport Stadium.
