The #8-seeded Notre Dame baseball team battled hard but came up short in a 5–0 loss to top-seeded Southern Lehigh on Saturday night at Limeport Stadium.
Despite being held scoreless, the Crusaders managed six hits against a dominant pitching performance from Southern Lehigh. Jason Frederick led the offense with a pair of singles, while Christian Rivituso, Austin Casal, Paul Smith, and Michael Martino each added a hit. Notre Dame also had extra-base hits from Casal and Martino, and Smith added a stolen base.
On the mound, John Hull pitched five innings, giving up three earned runs on seven hits while striking out two. Paul Smith tossed a clean final inning with one strikeout.
Notre Dame finishes the game awaiting their next matchup as District XI action will continue.
