The Notre Dame Crusaders football team improved to 2-0 on the season with a commanding 63-0 victory over Salisbury on Friday night. The Crusaders exploded for four touchdowns in the opening quarter and never looked back, dominating on both sides of the ball.

Quarterback Matt Bodnar was nearly perfect, completing 11 of 13 passes for 177 yards and five touchdowns. Fellow QB Tommy Murphy added two more scores through the air, finishing 2-for-2 with 75 yards. Jon Striba led the receiving unit with five catches for 131 yards and two touchdowns, while CJ Diaz hauled in two more scores. Drew Boyd and Alex Clark also found the end zone as Notre Dame’s passing game accounted for seven touchdowns.

The defense was just as impressive, limiting Salisbury to -6 total yards. Drew Boyd and Joseph Nehme each had interceptions, with Boyd returning his for a touchdown. Dominic Tocci added a fumble return score as the Crusaders forced four turnovers in the shutout.

Kicker Clemente Cintron was perfect on seven extra points, while Mark Perone added two. Notre Dame converted all three of its fourth-down attempts and held Salisbury to just one first down all night.

The Crusaders will look to keep their momentum rolling when they face North Schuylkill on Friday night at Lafayette College.
