The Notre Dame football team continued its dominant season Friday night, cruising past Palmerton 56-0. The Crusaders displayed their trademark balance and explosiveness, piling up 432 total yards while limiting the Blue Bombers to just 66.

Quarterback Matt Bodnar was sharp once again, completing 14 of 17 passes for 254 yards and four touchdowns. Jonathan Striba opened the scoring with a 6-yard touchdown run, then hauled in a 58-yard strike from Bodnar to make it 13-0 early. This continued in the second quarter with touchdown passes to CJ Diaz (9 yards) and Drew Boyd (27 yards), sending Notre Dame into halftime up 28-0.

The Crusaders kept rolling after the break. Boyd added his second touchdown on a 57-yard reception, and Aaron Gordon made a statement on defense with a 47-yard interception return for a touchdown. In the fourth quarter, Jason Frederick found the end zone on a 26-yard run before Tommy Murphy broke free for a 68-yard score to cap the night.

Defensively, Notre Dame smothered Palmerton from start to finish. John Hull led the way with 14 total tackles (8 solo, 6 assists), while Faust Capobianco added 9 tackles and Gordon’s pick-six provided one of the game’s biggest highlights.

With the win, Notre Dame improved to 9-0, continuing one of the most impressive seasons in program history.

The Crusaders will look to complete a perfect regular season when they face Wilson Area this Friday night at Lafayette College. The game will also serve as Senior Night, where Notre Dame will honor its senior football players, cheerleaders, and band members for their dedication and contributions to the program.
