Notre Dame put together a dominant performance, defeating Pen Argyl 96-49 in a meet filled with personal bests and strong finishes. The Crusaders showed depth across the sprints, distance races, and field events.

Alex Clark led the way on the track, sprinting to victory in both the 100m (11.33) and 200m (22.68). Andrew Shupe was right behind him in the 100m (11.41), securing a 1-2 finish for Notre Dame. Kalet Wilson also contributed valuable points in the sprints. Alexander Pirog displayed endurance and speed, winning the 400m (52.87), while Roman Perrucci added a strong third-place finish.

Notre Dame dominated the distance events as well, with Dante Azzolina claiming victories in the 800m (2:15.16) and 1600m (5:08.00). Emmett Rieland finished second in both races, showcasing his consistency, while Mark Perone added a third-place finish in the 1600m. Noah Sharpe took control in the 3200m (11:26.79), followed by teammates Darek Schaeffer and David Licari in a clean sweep for the Crusaders.

In hurdles, Jeremiah Robertson battled tough conditions to win the 110m hurdles (22.14) and secure a third-place finish in the 300m hurdles (52.69).

Notre Dame’s relay teams put in solid performances, highlighted by a first-place finish in the 4x100m relay (52.18) with Clark, Gordon, Wilson, and Shupe showcasing great teamwork and speed. The 4x800m relay team (Perrucci, Sharpe, Schaeffer, Fowler) also grabbed a victory with a time of 12:55.11.

In the field events, Aaron Gordon continued his dominance in the high jump (5-09), with Sean Tipton taking second place. Gordon also had a strong second-place finish in the long jump (18-08.50), while Alexander Pirog added a third-place finish. Tipton continued to shine in the triple jump (34-01), securing second place for the Crusaders.

The throwers had a stellar day, with Joshua Scherer winning the shot put (40-04), followed closely by Ethan Weems (40-03) and Marc Bartholomew (36-11) in another event sweep. Weems later captured first in the discus (115-07), while Scherer placed third. Jack Kothstein and Duncan Mitchelltree placed second and third, respectively, in the javelin, adding more crucial points for Notre Dame.

The Crusaders now turn their focus to Thursday’s meet at Palisades as they look to keep their momentum going.
