The Notre Dame girls track and field team put on a stellar performance in their meet against Jim Thorpe, securing a dominant 119-30 victory. The Crusaders showcased their depth across all events, with standout performances in sprints, distance races, hurdles, jumps, and throws.

On the track, Mia Steirer led the sprint squad with victories in both the 100m (13.59) and 200m (28.73), while Emily Lessig took first in the 400m (1:02.37) and played a key role in the 4x400m relay team’s victory. In the middle-distance races, Brenna Hammerstone claimed the 1600m (5:45.45) and secured second place in the 800m, just behind Samantha Karwacki, who took the win in 2:28.14. Alivia Rieland was strong in the long-distance events, winning the 3200m (13:57.40).

The hurdles events saw impressive performances from Savina Steele, who won both the 100m hurdles (15.68) and 300m hurdles (48.41). The relay teams were unstoppable, with Notre Dame taking first in the 4x100m (54.13), 4x400m (4:22.56), and 4x800m (13:51.40), showcasing the team’s depth and chemistry.

In the field events, Meghan Maslonka won the long jump (14-09) and the triple jump (28-09.50), while Alivia Rieland secured first place in the pole vault (6-9). The throwing events saw Sarah Zambo take first in the shot put (31-01), and Evelyn Hersh finished just behind in second.

It was a total team effort from start to finish, and the Crusaders will look to carry this momentum into their next meet at Pen Argyl on Tuesday at 3:30 PM.
