The Notre Dame girls track & field team delivered an outstanding performance, defeating Pen Argyl 96-54 in a well-rounded team effort that featured strong finishes on the track and in the field events.

Mia Steirer showcased her speed, leading the Crusaders in the sprints with a first-place finish in the 200m (28.20) and a second-place finish in the 100m (13.79). Angelina Perrucci and Ava Coulter added to the team’s depth with strong performances in the 100m and 200m, while Savina Steele dominated in the 400m (1:00.14), with Josephine Hobbie following close behind in second place.

Notre Dame’s middle and long-distance runners put on a clinic, sweeping the 800m and 1600m. Ella Schweitzer won both races, clocking in at 2:27.11 in the 800m and 5:35.11 in the 1600m, while Brenna Hammerstone and Samantha Karwacki secured second-place finishes. Alivia Rieland added crucial points with a second-place finish in the 3200m (13:41.44), followed closely by teammate Talia Fogel in third.

In the hurdles, Savina Steele was dominant in the 100m hurdles (16.07), while Violet Dewalt and Greta Guroff went 1-2 in the 300m hurdles, finishing just 0.03 seconds apart.

Notre Dame’s relay teams continued the winning momentum, with the 4x100m team (Steirer, Fanelli, Coulter, Cemelli) winning in 55.82. The 4x800m relay squad (Dewalt, Boyle, Hobbie, Hammerstone) also took first place with a time of 10:37.68, while the 4x400m team finished just behind Pen Argyl in a close race.

In the field events, Violet Dewalt shined in the high jump, tying for first at 4-09.00, while Meghan Maslonka claimed victory in the triple jump (26-09.00). Sarah Zambo and Evelyn Hersh dominated the throws, with Zambo winning the shot put (31-09.00) and Hersh taking first in the discus (95-03). Jenna Petrik and Shayla Delgado added second- and third-place finishes in the javelin throw.
