The Notre Dame swim team officially kicked off its 2025-26 season on Friday, competing for times vs. Salisbury. 

ND opened the evening in the Boys 200 Medley Relay, where the freshman trio of Lucas Wefing, Anthony Brazzo, and Jaxon Ellis, anchored by senior Mark Otten, posted a solid first-meet time of 2:04.30, a strong starting point for early December.

In the Girls 50 Freestyle, junior Alivia Rieland recorded a debut time of 32.00, while freshman Makayla Hoole followed at 36.07.
The boys showed depth in their first varsity sprint experience, led by Jaxon Ellis in 26.06, with Lucas Wefing (27.78) and Anthony Brazzo (29.27) completing a strong trio.

Ellis returned with another standout swim in the 100 Butterfly, finishing in 1:00.81, an impressive early-season mark.
Rieland added another steady performance in the Girls 100 Freestyle, touching at 1:12.95.

In the backstroke, Lucas Wefing opened his season with a 1:11.75 in the Boys 100 Backstroke, followed by senior Mark Otten at 1:22.22, giving ND two reliable early-season splits in the event.

Freshman Makayla Hoole rounded out the girls’ individual races with a 1:51.48 in the 100 Breaststroke, while Anthony Brazzo turned in one of his strongest first-meet swims at 1:20.16 in the boys’ breaststroke.

The team closed with an encouraging performance in the Boys 400 Freestyle Relay, where Wefing, Otten, Brazzo, and Ellis combined for 4:20.79, setting a foundation for relay improvement as the season progresses.

Notre Dame returns to action on Friday, December 12 to face Quakertown for their second meet of the season.
