Girls Soccer Shut Down Jim Thorpe

Crusaders Win: 9.00 - 0.00

Notre Dame's girls soccer team displayed a dominant performance on Thursday night, defeating Jim Thorpe 9-0. The scoring began early, with senior Emily Lessig finding the back of the net in the 8th minute, assisted by senior Jordyn Harper. Freshman Bella Cemelli extended the lead in the 19th minute, with a well-placed assist from fellow freshman Joey Hobbie. Junior Kelsey Bedics then scored in the 23rd minute, followed immediately by freshman Ella Schellenberger in the 24th. Notre Dame closed the first half with a goal from junior Ava Coulter, assisted by Emily Lessig in the 30th minute, capping off a relentless offensive display. 

Senior Riley Wolf kicked off the second half with a goal in the 48th minute, assisted by freshman Molly Garis. The momentum continued with sophomore Riley Boyle netting a goal off an assist from senior Sarah Zambo in the 54th minute. Zambo then added a goal of her own in the 64th minute, set up by junior Kelsey Bedics.

The final score came in the 68th minute when sophomore Leah Lacy scored, assisted by junior Lina Burgess. Notre Dame's defense held firm, securing the clean sheet and a decisive victory.

Notre Dame returns back in action Saturday at Scranton Prep.

Crusaders Lose: 2.00 - 4.00

In an intense matchup on Tuesday afternoon, the Notre Dame Crusaders girls soccer team faced a tough defeat, falling 4-2 against Northern Lehigh. 

Despite the loss, the Crusaders had standout moments, particularly from senior Jordyn Harper, who netted her first goal of the season off a well-executed throw-in by freshman Joey Hobbie. Junior Kelsey Bedics added to the scoreboard with a penalty kick, giving the Crusaders a brief spark as they battled to close the gap.

The Crusaders will look to regroup and bounce back when they take on Jim Thorpe this Thursday.

The JV girls soccer team secured a dominant 5-0 victory.


 

Girls Soccer Triumphs Over Catasauqua

Crusaders Win: 2.00 - 1.00

In an exciting Saturday morning matchup, the Notre Dame girls soccer team secured a hard-fought 2-1 win against Catasauqua. 

The game remained scoreless through the first half, with both teams displaying strong defense. The breakthrough came in the 54th minute when junior Kelsey Bedics delivered a well-placed free kick, which freshman Bella Cemelli skillfully redirected into the net, giving Notre Dame a 1-0 lead.

Catasauqua responded in the 74th minute, leveling the game with a crucial goal. However, Notre Dame wasted no time regaining the lead. Just one minute later, in the 75th minute, sophomore Riley Boyle found the back of the net, sealing the victory for the Crusaders.

The Crusaders return back in action on Monday at Bethlehem Catholic.

Girls Soccer Fall to Saucon Valley

Crusaders Lose: 1.00 - 6.00

The Notre Dame Crusaders faced a tough defeat on Wednesday, falling 6-1 to Saucon Valley. Despite a strong effort, the Crusaders struggled to keep pace with Saucon Valley’s relentless attack.

Sophomore Emily Reichard provided a bright spot for Notre Dame, scoring the team's lone goal. Her effort came in the second half, showing resilience even as the Crusaders trailed.

The Crusaders will regroup and aim to bounce back in their next match. They return to action this Saturday at home, where they’ll take on Catasauqua.

Girls Soccer Triumph over Lehighton

Crusaders Win: 4.00 - 2.00

The Notre Dame Crusaders secured a 4-2 victory over Lehighton on Tuesday afternoon, overcoming a slow start in the first half. Lehighton struck first, taking a 1-0 lead before the break, but Notre Dame came out strong in the second half.

In the 44th minute, senior Emily Lessig found the back of the net, igniting the Crusaders' offense. Lessig wasn't done yet, as she doubled the lead in the 54th minute, followed by an assist to junior Kelsey Bedics, who slotted home the team's third goal in the 55th minute.

Lessig completed her hat trick in the 60th minute, courtesy of a well-placed pass from freshman Joey Hobbie. Lehighton managed to add one more goal before the final whistle, but Notre Dame's dominant second-half performance sealed the 4-2 win.

The Crusaders are back in action Thursday at Saucon Valley

Crusaders Win: 5.00 - 1.00

The Notre Dame girls soccer team defeated Pen Argyl Saturday morning, 5-1. 

Senior Emily Lessig and junior Kelsey Bedics netted goals in the first half.

Lessig scored her second goal of the game along with junior Nia Hunt and freshman Mackenzie Gippe in the second half. 

The Crusaders are back in action on Tuesday vs. Moravian Academy.

Crusaders Lose: 0.00 - 3.00

The Notre Dame girls soccer team lost at home vs. Moravian Academy, 3-0, Tuesday afternoon. 

The Lions grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute and added an insurance goal midway through the first half. 

Moravian scored later in the 77th minute to close out the scoring.

The Crusaders are back in action Thursday at Bangor.

Girls Soccer Wins Home Opener

Crusaders Win: 3.00 - 2.00

In the girls soccer teams home opener on Monday, the Crusaders managed a 3-2 win against Williams Valley.

Notre Dame took the first lead of the game with a shot by sophomore Riley Boyle. 

Williams Valley attempted to get on the board but goalkeeper Reese Gubernot made an impressive diving save on Williams Valley’s penalty kick in the 20th minute. Senior Emily Lessig scored the teams next goal with four minutes left in the half. Williams Valley followed up with their own goal just seconds before the half ended.

It wasn’t until later in the game that the Crusaders extended its advantage 3-1 with a goal scored by junior Kelsey Bedics in the 50th minute. WV recorded its second goal late in the 2nd half finishing the game 3-2 Notre Dame.

The JV girls soccer team defeated WV 6-1.

The Crusaders are back in action Wednesday vs. Moravian Academy at home.
